Threads of becoming

Spring 2026

This season, we will explore the paths through which composers find inspiration for their music. Each piece in this season takes inspiration from someone or something that came before, tying the threads of music together throughout time and space.

The Menomonie Singers began rehearsals for Threads of Becoming in late January. We meet in the UW-Stout choir room for two hours, once per week. We also have a retreat, which is a full day of learning and getting to know each other as a choir.

Join us on April 25th and 26th at 2:00 each day to experience the connection that music brings to us all.

Concert set:

Schubert Mass in G – Franz Schubert

— 10 min Intermission —

Laughing Song – David Dickau

Three Madrigals – Emma Lou Diemer

Tundra – Ola Gjeilo

Love: Then and Still – Susan LaBarr

Turn the World Around – Larry Farrow

The choir members are proud to be a part of this organization, which is currently in its 43rd year of operation. Many of our singers have been with us for more than 10 years, and we welcome new singers every season. This choir is a supportive and important community for many, and we all revel in the chance to sing with such a talented and dedicated group.
